Acrylic Pouring-Mixed Media Techniques with Katherine

Hi Everyone, it's Katherine here with an "acrylic pouring" technique using lots of Pentart Acrylics as well as the beautiful Down by the Sea paper collection.

Let the Sea Set you Free by Katherine Sutton

This is a fairly messy technique - but it is great fun and gets super results.  To set it up I used a tray, covered in a plastic bag and several plastic cups to mix each of my paint colours in.  I used Dark Blue, Silver, Pink, Teal and Light Green acrylic paints - which are a thick acrylic so I watered them down with some of the Dekor Primer that Pentart has so that they were a thin cream-like consistency - you don't need a lot of paint as the pigment is quite strong, so I used about an inch long squirt of paint.  I also used some of the new Delicate and Glamour metallics in greenish silver and purplish silver as well as the rich gold glamour paint - again I thinned these with a bit of the Dekor Primer too.

I had quite a rough canvas board - you need your base to be something that doesn't warp with all the paint and water.  I then balanced it on some upturned cups so that the paint could run off onto my plastic covered tray - you need it to be flat so you can control how you tilt the canvas and where the paint ends up.  As the canvas was so textured it meant that I got some cracks on my pour which I really like, if you go for a smoother surface this doesn't happen, it did make me wonder about adding some crackle medium under a pour to see what happens.

For the first step I created a few blue puddles on my canvas.

I then added some of the greens in the centre of my blue puddles and then added lots of different colours around the canvas.

I put the edge of paint brush through the paint in a grid type pattern, just to start the mixing, then I tilted the canvas gently and just let the paints run into each other and some will run off the canvas onto the plastic tray.  I did use my paintbrush to encourage paint into the little areas of dry canvas you  can get.  You can also add more paint, at any time whilst it is wet, if you don't think you have enough  Once the canvas is covered in paint just leave it to dry

This is what it looked like after all my titling - I added a few drips into the top of the purplish silver, and little flicks of greenish silver in the bottom corners.  I then left my canvas to dry overnight.

Once dry I started to decorate it.

I used the Mandala die with the Sea Lagoon paper as well as a few flourishes from the Fanciful die set, and added some of the Earth Zinnia flowers in the bottom right hand corner.  I added some 3D balls and also 3D powder, dripping Gold Glimmer Mist on them and adding a little bit of the Rich Gold glamour paint too.  My sentiment is from the Noteworthy collection as well as the pink seahorse.  I added a few gems just for a little sparkle.  In the top corner I repeated a similar range of embellishments.

The paints have a really nice glossy effect and beautiful shimmer.

I added a little bit of silver wax paste around the edge of my canvas and extra gold glamour paint around my embellishment clusters.

Serendipity and Mixed Media Mania! with Elena O.

Hello, it's Elena here today and I am excited to share with you my tags I've  made.

Feathers Tags by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Serendipity Collection

I mixed Serendipity Noteworthy Die cuts and made some fussy cutting, but before that I started with my background. This time I played with the new Stencil Pastes from Pentart and the new stencils

Feathers Tags by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Serendipity Collection

The new stencils are really great and allow you to add more dimension. I added two colors at once.  They blend together beautifully..

I also made some paper layers and added the color with the acrylic paints from Pentart

It was fun to create the texture with the metallic paints and the pastes

I especially liked the 3D powder and balls, that I mixed with silver and gold paints for a uniqiue looking textured feature.

The birds and the flowers are so cute to add to any spring or summer projects

To add more shimmer and glow to my cards, I used the new Glamour metallic paint in Gold.  This is unlike any paint I've ever used before. it is highly pigmented, but brushes on SHEER so you can see through to the paper underneath. It is super cool.

I like the result it produces

Quick and Easy Party Decor with Serendipity and Stencil Pastes with Shizuka

Hello, BoBunny Friends! It's Shizuka here.
Today I will share the Party Rosetta I made with beautiful BoBunny Serendipity collection and Pentart Stencil Paste.
These rosettesare fun to make and  can be used at various parties.  Don't you think it will be more fun if you make it from your favorite paper?
Rosetta of the paper I made this time is very easy, so please try making it.  The end result looks really nice!

First cut the paper of your choice to 1 3/8 x 12 and prepare a couple strips, depending on how many rosettes you'd like to make. And I will add folds like the image above.

Next, prepare two types of paper of your choice. Pull out the two sheets with a BoBunny new craft die "Darling Doily Die". You cut the center part of one of the dolly along the circle.

Paste the folded paper according to the doily paper not cut.
Pull the outside of the cut doily and paste it according to the paper cut into the circle.
I will repeat these two.
Cut the edges of your favorite paper cut to 1 in width and connect it to the bottom of Rosetta.
This time I decorated using BoBunny Fancy Tags Dies.
Finally decorate your favorite decoration in the center of the circle is complete.

It is nice to simply insert your initials or names in the center of the circle.  You can also do a salutation such as Happy Birthday or Good Luck!

I think that you can decorate the layered chip board and jewel and finish it gorgeously.
I decorate this rosette with Pentart stencil paste and Fancy Flourishes Stencils.

I am glad if my project is helpful ♪

Thank you!!

Shizuka

Weekend Adventures and Cards, Cards, Cards! with Kathi

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Thanks for joining me for Paper Crafting Saturday today. I have made four cards using the paper line Weekend Adventure by BoBunny.

Four Fun Cards

Card 1 -

The base card is using the coordinating Double Dot cardstock paper, Avocado Dot.  The next layer I used Weekend Adventures. The third layer is a dark green paper that was embossed using a tree die I had,  with the trees then lightly distressed with fine sandpaper.   Then the new craft die Bear Necessities was used to cut out the bears. The bears where layered on top of tan and brown bears.  The bears were distressed on the edges with chalking ink. The sign was created out of light brown paper then it was embossed using a wood grain embossing folder then distress with chalking ink. Then sentiment was stamped on white card stock then punched out and placed on top of the sign using pop dots. The small fish where cut out of WA picnic then distressed with brown chalking ink. Placed on the card with a brad. The small lake peaking out on the lower left  was created with blue card stock and Caribbean Glitter paste. Jute was used on the lower part of the card for the finishing touch.

Card 2-

I use Weekend Adventures "Blooms" as the bottom card base that measures 6 X 43/4" topped with a dark green card that has been embossed with a chicken wire embossing folder.   The dark green measures 5 3/4  X  4 1/4.  Weekend Adventure  Picnic was used with the new card craft die "Congratulations" was used to die cut the sentiment.

Card 3 -

I used Weekend Adventures Fly Away.  This is a 5 1/2" X 5 1/2 card. The base is a soft blue paper. layered with 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 panel, using two strips from the Weekend Adventures Bear Hug paper. The top one was fussy cut and placed at the top of the paper and the second one placed at the bottom. I used the carousel and two butterflies from the Weekend Adventures layered chipboard. The card was finished with an oval sentiment distressed with distress ink then adorned with silver confetti paste.

Card 4 -

Is a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 yellow base card. Then layered with Weekend Adventures Swingset paper with a third layer being a soft blue. Both layers are distressed with a reddish chalking ink. A kite was created with weekend adventures papers Stripe and Road Trip. The kite tail is just some generic bakers twine.  The sentiment was stamped with archival ink with distressed edges.layered on the Stripe paper.  To finish the card, a layered chipboard banner and sentiment from the Weekend Adventures Good Vibes paper.

Fine Arts Friday with Ombretta

Hello and welcome to the BoBunny Blog today!

Today,  I propose to you a cut paper Art Project. This is my creation and I hope you like it!

Cut Paper Art by Ombretta Fusco using Bobunny Weekend Adventures

I drew the subject and started cutting the lines made with the pencil.

Then, I lifted and bent back all the cut pieces of paper...all of them...one by one...to mimic the look of the fish scales and fins.

I created a paper frame for my creation-this shows the back side of the paper:

My next step is painting the fish with metallic acrylic colors, which is the fun part and wehre the whole look comes together. I used a few of my favorite BoBunny and Pentart mixed media goodies to accent certain parts so they would stand out, and contoured others to create depth. You can do even more than I did here if you like a more colorful finished project.

And this is the result! It's a simple work if you have patience! I hope you like it!

See you soon!
